In this article we are going to show you how to set your own nameservers in WHM, this will mean any new account created or transferred onto WHM will have these new nameservers set in the DNS.
Please note: This doesn’t setup the nameservers for you, you will still need to do so at your domain registrar and in the DNS zones.
1. Login to your WHM: You can find your cPanel login details in the email we send you when you setup the account or you can connect directly from your Smughost account.
2. Find and Click “Basic WebHost Manager Setup” under the “Server Configurations” tab on the menu.
3. Click the circle button “Explicitly Set The Nameservers”.
4. Enter the nameservers you want to set as your main nameservers.
5. Click “Save Changes”.
You have now set the nameservers from the WHM end so any new accounts will be created with these nameservers in the DNS settings. Please remember this doesn’t set up your own nameservers it simply tells the server which nameservers you want to point to.
