Smughost

In this article we are going to show you how to redirect a domain name on cPanel. Redirecting a domain name could be useful for many things such as linking to an external website from your website without using the external websites link, often also used for affiliates.

1. Login to your cPanel: You can find your cPanel login details in the email we send you when you setup the account or you can connect directly from your Smughost account.

2. Find and Click “Redirects” under the “Domains” tab on your cPanel.

3. Choose the type of redirect you want set as permanent by default and then select the main domain name from the dropdown meny that you want the redirect to be for, then select the path you want the redirect to be named.

For example if you want to redirect to Google you may name it google and then your link will be https://yourdomain.com/google

Then you choose the domain name you want to redirect that link to, so for example you would put https://google.co.uk if you want to redirect that link to Google.

Then click “Add”.

4. Then the redirect is ready to use.
