Smughost

In this article we are going to show you how to change the password to a database user you have already created. It’s very simple and there are multiple reasons you may need to such as for security or if you have forgotten your database password.

If you have not yet created a database user find out here, if you have not the default password is your cPanel password however we don’t recommend using this, we recommend creating a database user and connecting using that.

1. Login to your cPanel: You can find your cPanel login details in the email we send you when you setup the account or you can connect directly from your Smughost account.

2. Find and Click “MySQL Databases” under the “Databases” tab on your cPanel.

3. Now simply scroll down and find “Current Users”, click “Change Password” next to the user you want to edit.

4. Choose your new password or use the generator and once you have chosen your new password click “Change Password”.

Your database user will now be updated with the new password and you can use that to connect to the database. If you have any questions or need help, get in touch!
