In this article we are going to show you how to change the username of a database user on Plesk. You will not likely need to do this very often but you may choose to for security. If someone has learnt your database user you may wish to change it to avoid them gaining access.

1. Login to your Plesk: You can find your Plesk login details in the email we send you when you setup the account.

2. Find and Click “Databases” from the sidebar of your control panel.

3. Now click on the domain name that owns the database you want to change the username for.

4. Now click on the database user shown under the database you want to change the username for.

5. Enter the new “user name” you want to choose and only update the password field if you also want to change the password. If you leave it blank it will remain the same.

6. Now click “Apply” and then “Ok”.

You have now changed the username of that database user and can continue to update any connections you have to that database.
